In February we often think of the romantic heart, as it’s the month we celebrate Valentine’s Day. However, it is also American Heart Month: a time meant to encourage us to incorporate healthy lifestyle behaviors into our routines to support a healthy heart. Heart disease affects nearly half of American adults, however the good news is there is a lot we can do to prevent it.
At Sustainable Snacks we love February. Why? Because it’s National Heart Health Month. (Our only complaint is that it’s the shortest month of the year!) A healthier heart makes for a healthier you, and you deserve a long, healthy life. Among the seven ways to improve heart health, per the American Heart Association, are a healthier diet, an active lifestyle, and a reduction in blood sugar.
